Bruce cultivated his deeply held beliefs in the serene, pine forests of rural Maine during the 1960s. He has been a longtime resident of Rochester, NY moving here in 1983. He is an author and speaker as well as a mountaineer, a loving grandfather and a leadership coach with 14 years’ experience. Bruce is committed to teaching millions to meditate daily to significantly enhance their quality of life, with calming, centering, and quieting joy.

My name is Bruce Wayne McLellan and I am the founder of The Mindful Leader LLC, my burning aspiration is to make a better world for our great grandchildren by liberating the heroic power of leadership in all of us. At the Mindful Leader, we have created a map of leadership mastery practice. These three giant steps are: KNOW, LOVE, and LEAD; meaning: know myself first, then know others; love myself first, then love others; and, lead myself first, then lead others. This journey is about awareness, trust, and mastery of the self. We believe that self-mastery is prerequisite to leading others. We believe that we are all potentially the leader of at least one person…ourselves, and as we master the practice of self-leadership, we can possess the clarity, confidence, and the competence to lead others. Leadership mastery helps business and organizational leaders in focusing on the right things; managing the four stages of business evolution (profit, people, performance, and propriety); attracting as well as retaining talented people; and championing impeccably collaborative teams.
Know, Love, Lead is about understanding and empowering ourselves so that we may precisely comprehend what is “ours to do.” When we comprehend, we can begin the journey of self-mastery. Like the artisans of ancient time, we can single-mindedly set ourselves to task of mastering our craft, the craft of personal leadership, which eventually bring the insights and experience to apprentice others in their own path to personal leadership. As the leadership luminary, John C. Maxwell say, "A leader who produces other leaders multiplies their influences."
The experience of self-awareness leads to a heightened awareness of others. These ‘awarenesses’ helps us to discover radical self-trust, which fosters the development of powerfully effective teams, teams created on the principles of integrity, candor, compassion, empathy, and mutual trust that’s managed through competency in emotional intelligence. And, the expanded awareness and discovery prepares us for self-mastery through the interplay of the elements of ‘authentic power’ including presence, style, wellbeing, willpower, habits, and ‘shadow-mastery.’ This interplay will empower and enliven us with the energy, devotion, and joy for bringing our higher purpose to life. It will also yield insights that enable us to overcome personal obstructions so that we may “get-out-of-our-own-way.” The purpose of authentic power is supporting us in consistently tapping our highest potential to deliver our best performance each day in the realization of our precious higher purpose. Having gained this personal insight and power, the leader is superbly equipped to support others in their own personal journey to self-mastery.

At the Mindful Leader, we help business owners to manage growth through intentionally scaling the business. Intentionally Scaling means building a business “on purpose.” We not only help them to determine their business’s current stage; we also help them to masterfully transition into their next stage. We believe that there are four distinct stages for business growth. These four stages include: Smart Start-up, Perfect People, Fabulous Framework, and Extraordinary Exit. We believe that each stage requires a unique focus. You know when you have entered a new stage of business when the opportunity you are facing changes.
